Design & Looks

The Denza Z9 GT is a sleek shooting‑brake EV that carries the new Blade Battery. While the exterior styling stays true to Denza’s modern aesthetic – a low roofline, sharp LED matrix headlights and a sculpted rear – the real change is under the floor. The battery pack is about 5 % denser than the current Blade, allowing the same 100 kWh capacity to fit into a tighter space without compromising cabin room.

Performance & Mileage

The Flash‑charge version can handle up to 1 500 kW of power. In real‑world terms:

  • 10 % → 70 % in 5 minutes
  • 10 % → 97 % in 9 minutes
  • 20 % → 97 % in 12 minutes even at –30 °C

That speed rivals the time it takes to fill a petrol tank. BYD says the battery uses lithium‑iron‑phosphate chemistry, offering solid cycle life and safety. The Z9 GT’s 100 kWh pack should give roughly 350‑400 km (WLTP) on a single charge, depending on driving style.

Price & Rivals

Pricing has not been announced yet, but the Z9 GT will lead Denza’s European rollout later this year. Its main competitors are the Lotus Emeya (400 kW charging) and high‑end Mercedes models that are testing up to 900 kW on test rigs. In Europe, the fastest public chargers (Ionity) top out at 600 kW, and only a handful exist. BYD plans to roll out its own Flash‑charge stations across Europe, though no timetable is set.
