BMW Motorrad is poised to launch its first electric two-wheeler, the CE 04 electric scooter, in India on July 24. The CE 04 marks a significant milestone for BMW as it ventures into the electric vehicle market in the country, catering to the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions.

Powered by an 8.9kWh battery, the CE 04 offers a range of 130km on a single charge. Its motor delivers a peak output of 31kW, enabling the scooter to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in just 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 120 km/h. Charging the CE 04 is relatively efficient, with a standard charging time of 4 hours and 20 minutes, which can be reduced to just 1 hour and 40 minutes using an optional fast charger.

The scooter features advanced components such as a telescopic front fork, a side-mounted rear monoshock, and 15-inch wheels equipped with 120 front and 160 rear tires. With a seat height of 780mm, adjustable to 800mm with the optional comfort seat, and a total weight of 179kg, the CE 04 is designed for both comfort and performance.

Riders will appreciate the array of modern features included in the CE 04, such as three ride modes, traction control, ABS, and a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity for navigation. The futuristic design of the scooter, characterized by distinct elements and unconventional bodywork, sets it apart from traditional scooters.

While BMW has not yet revealed the official price, it is speculated that the CE 04 will be priced significantly higher than the C 400 GT, which was launched at Rs 11.20 lakh (ex-showroom India). This suggests that the CE 04 could cost nearly twice as much, positioning it as a premium offering in the electric scooter segment.

As BMW Motorrad introduces the CE 04 to the Indian market, it is set to reshape the landscape of electric two-wheelers, offering a blend of innovation, performance, and luxury.
