Xiaomi has unveiled its SU7 Ultra, a powerful electric sedan boasting 1,548hp, aimed at breaking the Nürburgring lap record currently held by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.

Xiaomi has introduced a new high-performance electric sedan, the SU7 Ultra, designed to dominate the track with a staggering 1,548 horsepower. This cutting-edge vehicle aims to surpass the current Nürburgring lap record for electric vehicles, held by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, which completed the lap in 7 minutes and 5.55 seconds.
The SU7 Ultra is equipped with dual ‘V8s’ electric motors, each generating 578 horsepower, along with an additional ‘V6s’ motor on the front axle. This setup results in a combined power output of 1,548 horsepower, significantly outpacing the Taycan Turbo GT by 440 horsepower. Xiaomi claims the SU7 Ultra can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 1.97 seconds and reach 300 kilometers per hour in 15.07 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 350 kilometers per hour.
To ensure the SU7 Ultra can handle its immense power, Xiaomi has outfitted the vehicle with enhanced AP Racing brakes and Pirelli P Zero tires, enabling it to decelerate from 100 kilometers per hour to a complete stop in only 25 meters. The car’s body, constructed from carbon fiber, contributes to a total weight of 1,900 kilograms, optimizing both weight and downforce management.
Xiaomi plans to test the prototype SU7 Ultra at the Nürburgring, aiming to break the non-production EV record set by the Volkswagen I.D. R at 6 minutes and 5.336 seconds. A production version of the SU7 Ultra is expected to take on this challenge next year, showcasing Xiaomi’s ambition to redefine electric vehicle performance standards.
